The spiralling cost of energy and a move towards sustainable building development has driven the demand for faster and more efficient methods of measuring building performance. Thermal imaging cameras provide a quick and easy way of identifying the location and scale of energy loss in residential buildings which are regulated by the Consolidated Building Regulations in England and Wales. Revisions to Part L of the regulation covering conservation of fuel and power came into effect in October 2010.
New build and renovation projects create many opportunities to identify the leading source of unwanted air leakage and energy saving opportunities.
